Oitavos Dunes Golf Club
At just over thirty minutes from Lisbon airport, Oitavos Dunes is regarded as the best course in Portugal and number 55 in the world according to Golf World magazine. It was also the host course of the European Tour Golf Sixes event in 2019 and has seen the tour visit multiple times before. From the back tees, the par 71 Oitavos Dunes plays 6,970 yards which is plenty when the coastal winds get up. Sitting on the dramatic Atlantic Coast, this Arthur Hills course makes full use of the wonderful panoramas on offer from the ocean. The course was carefully crafted within the Sintra-Casacais National Park and uses the pines and sand dunes of the land to perfectly compliment the coastline. The course is set-up like a classic Scottish links with nine outward holes and nine back.

The par-71 layout is undoubtedly a hidden gem of Europe, where you can enjoy an outstanding round of golf while you gaze over the rugged Atlantic coastline that makes Portugal's Western area so special.

Quinta da Beloura Golf Club
Quinta da Beloura is located close to the charming towns of Cascais and Sintra, and was designed by Rocky Roquemore. The course itself is relatively flat, and provides enchanting views of the spectacular Sintra Mountains. From the championship markers, Quinta da Beloura reaches 6,422 yards, and despite only opening for play in 1994, is a mature test. This is mainly thanks to a dedicated programme to plant some 40,000 trees, while the presence of a number of lakes makes for some demanding but beautiful holes, particularly the 16th and 17th, where visiting golfers will need the perfect blend of bravery and accuracy to survive unscathed.

The course is divided into two distinct sections, with six holes running through a valley and the remainder straddling the hillside. Penha Longa is consistently regarded as one of the country's top five courses, and was the host for the Portuguese Open twice in the mid-1990s, and the Estoril Open in 1999.
