Boavista Golf Club
Set among the rolling hills of the western Algarve, Boavista Resort has quickly become a fan favourite since it opened in 2002, becoming one of the premier resorts in the region. Espiche Golf Club
This gently undulating 18 hole par 72 course blends seamlessly into the stunning Algarvean landscape and offers a challenge that will get the attention of golfers of all abilities. The total yardage of just over 6,400 yards is healthy enough to challenge more experienced players while multiple sets of tees allow those who are less prodigious off the tee to still enjoy the course. As with any good golf course though, the length is not the main obstacle to a good score. Sweeping undulations, natural lakes and streams and an abundance of natural fauna encourage golfers to think their way around the course and the slick greens will also test your concentration from start to finish. Espiche Golf is surrounded by open countryside and with views of nearby vineyards and the not too distant Monchique Mountains, it is a truly inspiring place to play golf.

Regardless of the other golf clubs you visit, Palmares is a must-play, having hosted a number of prestigious amateur and professional events, it is a top 10 course in Portugal and top 40 in Continental Europe. Designed by Trent Jones Jr, the 6,905 yard layout is an Algarve favourite, and has a nerve-jangling opening tee shot, where golfers must stand atop the elevated tee and find the fairway of the demanding dog-leg par-4. Palmares, featuring 27 holes where all 3 loops of 9 return to the clubhouse, has spent 3 consecutive years as Best Golf Course in Portugal.

Morgado Golf & Country Club
This is a relatively mature feeling course thanks to the great many olive trees around the course, and that has added to the aesthetic beauty of the natural surroundings, which are dominated by the imposing Monchique mountains. Golfers of all abilities will love Morgado do Reguengo as it has been built with multiple tees; although it measures a mighty 7,300 yards from the tips.In recent years Morgado Golf and Country Club has been seen as one of the top golf courses in Portugal. This year it hosts its inaugural European Tour event as the Open de Portugal makes its long awaited comeback to the Tour Calendar after being absent for 7 years.

Alamos Golf Club
The 6,600 yard layout was formulated by the highly regarded European Golf Design association, and while the course is relatively open from the tee, its large greens are extremely tricky. The enormous putting surfaces are noted for their severe slopes, and are guarded by treacherous bunkers. The raised greens play havoc with club selection, while Alamos is also punctuated with a number of hazardous water features; in fact, the course is formulated around three large lakes, which provide both excitement and aesthetic beauty.

Sir Henry Cotton Penina Championship Golf Club
Opened in 1966 and designed by Sir Henry Cotton, Penina's Championship Course was the first golf course built in the Algarve. The Championship course has been host to the Portuguese Open eleven times, and is also a regular stop for the European Seniors Tour. Originally built on rice paddies, the 6,869 yard course is by and large quite flat but is set amongst mature trees and shrubs, with each of the fairways lined with impressive woodland. As a result of the mature setting of the golf course, accurate shot making is required to score well on the par-73 Championship course.

Gramacho Golf Club
Ronald Fream teamed up with the former world No. 1 golfer Nick Price from Zimbabwe to create the unique design of Gramacho. Located next to the bustling town of Portimao, golfers staying the area have the beach on tap and a multitude of great courses to play. Pestana Gramacho is well-known as a championship course that is playable for all abilities, even those with a very high handicap. Managed to incorporate the traditional landscape into the layout by using the natural stone outcrops, historical dry stone walling and existing ancient trees, along with some artfully sculpted lakes and bunkers. Experienced golfers will certainly know that they have played a superb golf course with its testing par of 71 and a tiger tee length of nearly 6,700 yards.

Vale da Pinta Golf Club
The Pestana Carvoeiro resort is home to three championships - the Vale da Pinta and Gramacho are on site. The Vale da Pinta is a fantastic parkland course, measuring 6,728 yards. Like the resort's further two courses, it was designed by Ron Fream, a highly regarded American golf architect, and features a number of lakes which are as testing as they are beautiful. Since opening in 1992, the course has established an excellent reputation, culminating with the award of a European Seniors Tour event in November 2007. The Pinta Course, despite not being the oldest when compared with local favourites like Penina, is fast becoming one of the most desirable and admired courses to the west of Vilamoura.

Visit Lagos
Lagos has a strong influence of the long presence of Arabs. The walls around the old town witnessed the several battles fought to stop the attacks to Lagos. The wealth brought by the Discoveries is clear in the gilded wood carvings that decorated most churches. Museums, churches, fortresses, lighthouses. Lagos has endless possibilities waiting for you.

Enjoy the best beaches
Meia Praia is one of the best beaches of the Algarve coast and one of the largest bays in Europe, at a 10 minute walk from the Marina Club. There are other options as: D. Ana Beach, Camilo, Porto de Mós, Praia da Luz, Pinhão or Batata Beach.

Visit Alvor
Old fishing village with typical white houses that go back to the Arab and Roman times. The Alvor Lagoon Ecological Reserve is one of the highlights, showing the best of nature.

Visit Portimão
Explore the streets of Portimão, discover the city’s history, and surrender to the charm of its enriching historical and cultural heritage. A surprise awaits in Alcalar where you can see the legacy left to us by prehistoric civilisations. Take the little ones on a visit to the Portimão Educational Farm and introduce them to the friendly animals.

Visit Sagres and Cabo San Vicente
Sagres is a small town, quiet and relatively isolated from the hustle and bustle of the region, the large fortress that exists at the end of the town and being the best starting point to visit the cliffs of Cabo de San Vicente or one of the nearby beaches, such as the do Tonel. A tourist point to highlight in Sagres is the fortress, located on the outskirts of the town. Cabo de San Vicente is located just a few kilometers from Sagres, so visiting one and the other at the same time is almost a must. Here it is common to find passing tourists photographing themselves against the background of the cliffs that overlook the Atlantic. Apart from this natural landscape, the view from the cliffs is beautiful.
