Verdura Resort is situated on the south west coast of Sicily, between the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento and the fishing town of Sciacca, the Resort is set in a 230 hectare park among olive and orange groves, with over 1.8 km of private coastline. Palermo and Trapani airports are 80 minutes away.
Verdura Golf and Spa Resort accommodations are of the very highest specifications and the property has won numerous awards and accolades, including 'Italy's Best Golf Hotel' at the 2015 World Golf Awards. Each of the 203 exquisitely designed rooms and suites offer an unobstructed view of the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.
Verdura Resort’s 203 elegant rooms and suites, divided into 7 categories, boast stunning sea vistas from private terraces. All rooms are equipped with ample wardrobe space, while the stone-finished bathrooms enjoy natural light and views of the resort’s green areas or attractive winter gardens adorned with citrus trees. Warm Sicilian hues of violet, ochre and scarlet enhance the luxurious atmosphere of the rooms and suites, each one slightly different from the other. Modern dark-wood four-poster beds feature romantic muslin mosquito screens, while cylindrical fabric lampshades provide suffused lighting. The floors are in polished concrete, the bathroom walls are enhanced with mosaics, and the rooms are adorned with colourful local artisan objects such as vases and ceramic tile table tops. The entrance to each room, and the reception area, are decorated with traditional Sicilian bas-reliefs recreated by the Italian company “Recuperando”. Bamboo has been used to create shady areas on the terraces, adding another element of traditional Sicilian craftsmanship.
Deluxe and Superior Deluxe Rooms: 40 m2 – Designed in fresh, contemporary Sicilian style, the rooms have a private terrace or balcony facing the sea, as well as a king size four-poster bed and a spacious bathroom.
Junior and Classic Suite: 60m2 – Carefully chosen artwork and rich, warm fabrics create a relaxed feel. The suites are characterized by a spacious living room and a private balcony or private terrace with stunning views over the sea.
Grand Suite: 72m2 – With ample living space both inside and out, each suite has a private entrance, a generous separate living room, a kitchenette and a spacious bedroom. The pale stone bathroom faces a stunning lightwell courtyard. Outside, there is a private courtyard, a sea-facing double terrace with seating areas, a dining table and a hammock.
Food and beverage options at Verdura Golf and Spa Resort consist of four restaurants and five bars, each in their own unique setting with terraces overlooking the scenic hills. Celebrity chef Fulvio Pierangelini runs the hotel’s Mediterranean restaurant, Zagara, building a substantial menu from all the natural ingredients available. The beachfront Amare Restaurant serves fresh off the boat seafood while other dining options include Liola, serving Trattoria style food, Granita for snacks and cocktails, Buon Giorino for breakfast and the clubhouse Torre Bar which is ideal for a buffet lunch after golf.
Verdura Resort also organizes romantic candlelit dinners on the beach or under the stars among the olive trees.
Although golf is often at the forefront of anyone visiting Verdura, those wishing for a relaxing break can enjoy a wealth of activities away from the fantastic golf courses. The spa itself is one of the largest and most comprehensive in Europe, with 11 treatment rooms as well as outdoor treatment space, guests can enjoy a range of treatments using local produce from the Island.
The fitness area has a 170m2 Gym, equipped with the latest Technogym equipment, as well as a fitness studio with daily classes in the 20-metre indoor pool.. Verdura Resort's Fitness Team will help guests meet their exercise goals and reach their full potential.
But training is not just limited to Verdura's indoor facilities: some of our fitness classes, such as Sunset and Sunrise Yoga, take place outdoors. In addition, there are jogging, trekking and cycling trails that meander through the resort’s olive, orange and lemon groves.
The resort has a 2km private beach with a Water Sport Centre that offers state-of-the-art equipment rental for great water sport activities such as wake and flyboarding, windsurfing, etc. A football pitch (that was chosen by the German national team as its training camp for the 2010 World Cup) and a Tennis Academy with 6 clay courts complete the resort’s sport facilities.

The spa’s showpiece is the outdoor thalassotherapy circuit consisting of four pools, distinguished by different temperatures, varying saline densities, and different mineral and microorganism content. The circuit involves passing from the warmest to the coldest pool, spending between 10 and 15 minutes in each one

Verdura Resort - East Links Course
Long regarded as one of the finest courses in not only Italy but all of Europe, Verdura East Links – along with its sister course Verdura Shore – shot to new heights after original architect Kyle Phillips returned to remodel both layouts in 2019. Played along the dramatic terrain of Sicily’s southern coast, Verdura East Links provides a thorough examination of every skill in a player’s arsenal. Strategy is the key to scoring well around this par-72 layout without falling foul of craftily placed bunkers – and sprawling greens demand that golfers must pay careful attention to each putt. Verdura East Links never strays far from the Mediterranean Sea, but the highlight is perhaps the three-hole stretch between the sixth and eighth, where you’ll need to hold your nerve to avoid sending your ball to the bottom of the bay.

Verdura Resort - West Shore course
Designed by world-renowned American architect Kyle Phillips and first opened for play in 2010, Verdura West Shore is an 18-hole masterpiece set to one of the most stunning backdrops in European golf. With tricky bunkers and deceptively penal rough, Verdura West Shore rewards accuracy above all, but a fresh sea breeze adds another layer to the challenge. Once you get to the green, you’ll need to aim well to sink the decisive shot on fast but firm surfaces. A challenge for novices and veterans alike, the course winds through our picturesque estate before a breathtaking crescendo: the final six holes, which run a stone’s throw from the sapphire Mediterranean shoreline. You won’t find a more thrilling run of holes anywhere in Italy. Verdura West Shore has been revitalised by an extensive renovation at the hands of Phillips, elevating one of the continent’s best seaside courses to a new level.

Il Picciolo Etna Golf Club
Opened for play in 1989, Il Picciolo Golf Club, the first 18 hole golf course, Par 72 on the island, offers a fantastic array of holes laid down by architect Luigi Rota Caremoli. Nestled among age old oaks, towering hazel trees and romantic vineyards, the course offers a peaceful yet testing afternoon on the fairways. This is a superb golf course with holes fashioned from the characteristic lava stone of Mount Etna. Measuring 5870m from the back tees the course is lengthy enough to test the better player while not leaving the beginner overawed by the challenge. The course also enjoys a fine tradition having hosted both the Sicilian Ladies Italian Open and the Sicilian Senior Open and with a clubhouse that sits at 650 meters above sea level, views of the surrounding countryside can be enjoyed while you recount your round over a well deserved drink.

Golf Club I Monasteri
This 18-hole, par 71 golf course extends across 90 hectares within an orange, lemon, and prickly pear grove. Designed by architects David and Vincenzo Mezzacane, our golf course blends perfectly with its surroundings. Take a break during your game to breathe deeply and enjoy the scents of the surrounding vegetation, or enjoy the shade of the centuries-old olive trees rising beneath the Sicilian sun. Tour of Valle dei Templi

Scala dei Turchi Boat Experience

Cycling
Mountain E-Bikes allow you to meander through Sicily’s hidden history, accompanied by local guides. Cycle through nature reserves and white cliffs on your way to the wild beach of Piana Grande. A highlight is the Heraclea Minoa archaeological site, rumoured to be the location of a wrestling match between local hero Eryx and Heracles himself.
Trekking
Verdura has designed a series of trekking routes outside Verdura Resort which unite wellness with culture and nature. Available for all levels of fitness and experience, each route varies in length and terrain. The Fitness Team will guide you through these treks and provide you with water at break points.
Horse riding
Inhale the scents of lemon groves and Mediterranean herbs while on a guided horseback tour within Verdura Resort. Verdura's equestian experiences are suitable for riders of all abilities and available for ggroups of up to 4 people - idea for both families or romance. Passin citrus farms, almond groves and vegetable gardens, you'll uncover sea views on chalky trails that wind down to the coast.
Tennis
Verdura Tennis Academy, players of all ages and abilities are welcome to play at their leisure with friends and family. The tennis instructors will unveil secret tips from the likes of Nadal and Federer. The Academy also hosts guest tournaments, special tennis camps and events with famous ex-professionals.
